Instructions

Making the creamy chicken wonton filling

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • Add the finely chopped chicken to the pan and cook until it is no longer pink.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, thick cream, salt, black pepper, chicken powder, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Assemble the Wontons

  • To assemble the wontons, take a small/medium roll sheet and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with slurry and fold it in half to create a triangle. Press the edges together to seal. Then press the triangle from the middle to create a wonton shape.
  • Repeat until all the filling mixture is used up.

Frying the wontons

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the wontons to the oil, a few at a time. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the wontons from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Your easy creamy chicken wontons are ready.
  • Serve immediately: Creamy chicken wontons are best served hot and crispy, so be sure to serve them immediately after frying with your favorite dipping sauce.
